Exclusive Get The Blessing Interview

Get The Blessing

Here’s our exclusive interview with Get The Blessing. Nick caught up with them to discuss their superb new album, Bugs In Amber, and much more.

Award-winning “genre-bending” Bristolians Get The Blessing are a four piece Post-Jazz collective made up of Portishead alumni Jim Barr (bass) and Clive Deamer (Drums) alongside Pete Judge (Trumpet) and Jake McMurchie (Saxophone). Get The Blessing’s distinctive patchwork of catchy hooks and free improvisation they claim is due to a shared pathological distrust of chords.

Their music is influenced by the work of Ornette Coleman but also plays tribute to the bands dance background as well as incorporating ska and rock. Get more from Get The Blessing here and on MySpace here.
